Carbon Offset Program

In an effort to offset energy use at the conference and for attendees’ travel, we will be donating a portion of registration costs to a local restoration project.

You may contribute to this fund by:

  • donating in $5 increments through the Eventbrite registration process

  • donating any amount at the registration table during the conference

For more information about the specific project these carbon offset funds will benefit, read on!

At our last conference we contributed carbon offset funds to the Whychus Canyon Stream Restoration Project Deschutes County, OR

As part of the ongoing effort to restore anadromous runs of Chinook salmon and steelhead trout in the Upper Deschutes Basin, a coalition of non-profits, agencies and other partners are working together to restore fish habiat in a 6-mile reach of Whychus Creek.  Restoration of this area is important because it includes several large meadows where historic spawning and rearing were likely concentrated.  The project, referred to as the Whychus Canyon Restoration Project, focuses on restoring the creek and its associated floodplain throughout the six-mile reach.  When complete, the project will be the largest single stream restoration project in Central Oregon.
